We're Back!

We are back from our hiatus and I have some pictures from this weekend to post...in fact you are going to get 2 posts in 1 day because my hubby has put me to work for a few days this summer and I haven't learned how to get everything done and work too! Boy oh boy I'm in for it come August! Anyhow, we had a wonderful Memorial weekend at Pop and Mimi's house. It was so nice to get to see everyone and Jentry finally got to meet her cousins Noah and Millie! Here are some pics from our weekend. Mimi and Pop took Jentry on her first Gator ride! Apparently she wasn't very happy that the ride was over :(Noah, Pop and Jentry, Noah is an awesome older cousin, he was very gentle with Jentry, here he is offering her wubbanub to her!Mommy feeding Jentry on her first boat ride.Jentry and Millie enjoying their first bath together!

Jentry's Tongue and Another Hiatus

So in the past few weeks Jentry has discovered her tongue! She sticks it out all the time and watches you to see if you will stick yours out back at her! You might have noticed in her 3 month pictures that her tongue was out in some of them, but last night her and Jack were playing and I took a few pictures of her! Boy oh boy does she love her Daddy!
PS For my daily blog checkers we are going on another hiatus starting today and hopefully ending Monday...but it might be Tuesday...back up to "God's Country" as my Dad likes to call it...where there is NO INTERNET!

Silly Sleeper

Yesterday I let Jentry take a nap on the floor...please don't freak out that she is on her stomach, I was right in the room the whole time checking on her to make sure she was breathing...I know they are to sleep on their backs, but anyhow, while she was sleeping she drew her knees up to her chest and stuck her butt out and slept. I hadn't ever seen her sleep like that so I had to take a picture!

Daddy's Birthday Party

On Saturday we had a party at our house for the May birthdays in Jack's family. Jack, Ashley and Glen all have May birthdays. We enjoyed Fried Chicken, lots of sides, and cake from Costco. The May birthdays all got nice gifts and we enjoyed having everyone over to celebrate. Here is a picture of the Three Stooges and their cake!

Glen, Jack, and Ashley with their YUMMY cake!

3 months old

Jentry turned 3 months old yesterday. I can't believe how fast time flies...before I know it she will be 6 months old and I will be headed back to another year of teaching. Anyhow, our newest achievement is a huge smile. Jentry especially loves to smile at Mommy or Daddy first thing in the morning while she is laying on her changing table, she is so beautiful! Here is a picture of her smiling for Mommy...she is in her dedication dress...I just LOVE this picture!Jentry has also started sleeping 7-10 hours a night...thank heaven! I really like this however now I wake up around 3 and if Jentry isn't awake I have a hard time going back to sleep! Oh well, Jentry is sleeping on a nice wedge that my cousin Heidi is letting us borrow, and Jentry loves it. Jentry has started to sleep on her little hands. I captured this picture one day while Jentry was napping...Isn't she precious??!!??

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Yesterday was Jack's 35th Birthday! Jentry and I had many things to do but I really wanted to bake Jack some Funfetti cupcakes, Funfetti is Jack's favorite kind of cake mix however, he said his coworkers bought him a cake so we didn't get to make the Funfetti cupcakes after all :( Boo Hoo! Oh well, we are having a party for him on Saturday so I will post more pictures later, I did capture this one with Jentry so I can scrap about the day! (Notice she's smiling!!) Jentry and I got Jack a new shirt, some boxers and new sleep pants...we have one more gift for him but it's not in yet...so he doesn't know about it. Hopefully it arrives by Saturday so I can give it to him with his cards!

Go Cubs Go!

On Sunday Daddy and Jentry put on their Cubs hats and enjoyed watching the Cubs WIN together! Jentry's hat is a little big...but we know she will grow into it someday :) Jentry LOVES her Daddy and I'm sure she will grow up to love watching baseball as much as her mommy and daddy do!

Happy Mother's Day

I had a wonderful first Mother's Day. Jack and Jentry gave me a very nice gift and a wonderful card that reminded me that I have a very important job and I do it well. It was so nice to have Jack's thoughts about me as a mom in writing. Sometimes during the daily grind I think the things I do go unnoticed but apparently that is not the case and that made me feel good! Jack took a few pics of Jentry and I yesterday and I wanted to share them. We enjoyed Skyline for a late lunch/early dinner since Mom's ate for free and I love Skyline so it was a treat :)

Jentry's Dedication

Tonight Jentry was dedicated at our church. We are really blessed to have such wonderful families. All of our parents were with us, along with Jack's sister and her family and his brother and his family. We felt very special! However...I forgot the camera so we don't have any pics of the event...I think I'll put Jentry's dress back on her in the morning and get some pics then :)

Beautiful Flowers!

Ok...so this isn't about Jentry at all (in fact she screamed the entire time I planted! Turns out she just didn't want to be in her bouncy seat...spoiled I tell you!)...but I'm proud of my handiwork so I had to share it! This morning Jentry and I headed to wal-mart to buy some formula and a few other things and while I was there I decided to make it a one stop shopping trip instead of traipsing to Lowes too...so we purchased flowers and mulch too...and then we went home and I planted my little heart out because it is supposed to rain here any minute! Also, take note in the larger circle of bricks around our tree...Jack did that for me yesterday...Thanks Honey! All of the work I did...mulched in front of the house, planted by the side of the house and around the tree.Around our tree I planted purple and white wave petunias and yellow marigolds (I gotta keep the darn bunnies away!)
On the side of our house we have an eclectic mix going on at the moment. There is still a tulip in bloom, so I left it! I love tulips. Then we have a peony that has yet to yield a bloom...but I know one is coming one of these years! We also have hyacinths that are dying...hope they make it next spring. And today I added red geraniums and yellow marigolds!Finally...all by myself I spread 3 big bags of black mulch around our hostas and bushes! Hopefully I did it right!! Jack...can you check on that when you get home :)

So...she's not perfect...

If you've talked to me in the past 11 weeks I've been quick to say that Jentry is such a good baby...sleeps a lot, eats well, sleeps some more, etc. Well today Daddy caught her in a mood...and he loves the way her bottom lip sticks out when she is crying! So here she is...mad at the world!

PS...she is really funny when she cries because she squaks then stops and looks around then squaks some more...we sorta laugh at her...nice parents we are :)

11 Weeks Old

Yesterday Jentry was 11 weeks old! I can't believe it's been 11 weeks already!! It is so crazy to think that I've made it 11 weeks as a mom and haven't hurt her or done something completely stupid. If you know me at all you know that I was totally freaking out about becoming a mom...but I must say that I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job...especially for having a baby girl born 5 weeks early and weighing 5 lbs. She has almost doubled her weight!! That's right, we have to be close to 10 pounds by now...and she is a happy smiley baby. I love talking to her and having her smile really big at me...I know she loves her mommy :) Anyhow, enough of me bragging about my baby girl...I took this picture yesterday, it was the first time I noticed that she was in her swing and actually watching the bugs above her, she is becoming more alert everyday!
