Happy Birthday Princess Jentry

Today is Jentry's actual First Birthday. Oh Yeah...I'm proud of Jack and I for making it an entire year without causing Jentry any harm! We made it :) Whooo Hoo!! This morning when I dropped Jentry off at daycare she screamed and cried as I walked out the door...that sure tore at this Mama's heartstrings...but I knew I had to get to work so out the door I went with tears in my eyes. Then during 1st period I got a call and Jentry won 3rd place in a Central Indiana Cutest Baby Contest!!! That is awesome! I mean her Daddy and Mommy know she is beautiful but now it's confirmed for us :)A few weeks ago Jentry got her 1st card in the mail from Papaw Jack, yesterday she got her card from Nana, and today she received a card from Mommy and Daddy's friends Amy and Jimmy. Here she is trying to open her card. Mommy had to help her out a little. Once Jack got home we all headed to the mall so that Jentry could choose her very first Teddy bear from Build A Bear. I gave her 4 choices and she choose this bear that donated $1 to a children's health and wellness fund...she's already donating to good causes and she's only one! Needless to say, I was a little bummed that they didn't have the Allergy/Asthma friendly bear that our niece and nephew have...but such is life! Jentry watched closely as the BAB lady stuffed her bear.Jentry and the BAB lady who was busy stuffing her new bear.Daddy and Jentry with her freshly stuffed bear.Mommy giving Jentry's new bear a bath. Jentry with her new bear Janie. We hope Janie, Norman and Alice become fast friends as we are sure they will all be at Mimi and Pop's house before we know it!

Princess Jentry- You are the apple of Daddy and my eyes. You have made both of our lives richer. We love you with all of our hearts and we can't believe how much you have grown this first year. The year flew by. We are looking forward to watching you grow even more during the next year. We love you sweet girl and can't imagine our lives without you. Happy Birthday Precious Princess! Love, Mommy and Daddy

Another Snow Day!

Argh...I had another snow day today...if this were 2009 I would be fretting about all of these snow days because 364 days ago I was still pregnant with Jentry and every snow day meant another day without pay...this year it's a different story...I could care less about snow days...now it just means that I get to have a day to spend with Jentry in the middle of the week...however I must say it makes going back to work that much harder! Anyhow, today Jentry found our front windows and began to beat on the mini blinds, so instead of her breaking those I opened them a little bit for her. She then began to beat on the window and yell for her daaad, dada, daaad. She is crazy for her Daddy!
Whooo Hooo...I just got the call that my school is on a 2 hour delay tomorrow...I love 2 hour delay days! It's even better that it happens to actually be Jentry's 1st birthday tomorrow so she will get to sleep in a little bit...haha...that's a joke...she's up at 6 ish no matter what...nice alarm clock :)

1st First Birthday Party

This past weekend we celebrated Jentry's 1st birthday with my side of the family back "home" in Northern Indiana. We are blessed that one set of my grandparents live in a community that has a building that can be used by any of the neighbors. It is a wonderful place to hold family gatherings such as birthday parties or graduation open houses. My grandma ended up in the ER on the day of Jentry's party so she wasn't able to enjoy the festivities. Grandma...we hope you are feeling better soon and we hope you enjoy these pictures of the day :) Jentry arrived at her party sound asleep...she didn't know what was about to happen! We were blessed with many wonderful gifts for Jentry to enjoy!Of course Jentry had her own cake. We ordered her big cake from Costco, it was a white cake with chocolate mousse filling. Jentry's "little" cake was made by the lady that created the wonderful goodies Jack and I had at our wedding. We LOVE Alma's cakes and wanted Jentry to enjoy one for her 1st taste of cake.Mommy and Daddy with Jentry before she dove into her cake.Jentry enjoying her first taste of cake...or icing...I can't tell if she's enjoying it or not...Mommy and Jentry opening her awesome giftsJentry making a fast escape...leaving Mommy to open Jentry's gifts all by herselfAunt Verda, thank you for traveling all the way from Florida to share Jentry's special day with us. It was a nice surprise to see you on Saturday!Aunt Tonya, Thank you for being a wonderful photographer for us. It was nice to know that we would have many wonderful pictures of Jentry's special day :)

To all of our guests. It was so awesome to feel so loved on our little girls 1st birthday. Jack and I know we are blessed with an awesome extended family. It was so great to see everyone on Saturday. We hope you've enjoyed watching our little girl grow into a curious toddler!

Snow Days

So for the past 2 days we have had snow days at my school so I've been able to keep Jentry at home with me...I love my little girl...but my oh my does she ever get into EVERYTHING!! Here she is taking as many toys as she could reach out of her toy box.
We also had a chance to go to the new GFS store by our house to buy the food for her 1st, 1st birthday party...then we went to get her 1st set of First Birthday pics taken today. She will have 2 more sets of birthday pics taken before things are all said and done! I know I'm crazy...but I have reasons...anyhow...on to these 2 other pictures...they show how much my baby girl is growing up. Today when I walked back to her bedroom I found Jentry with her favorite book "Ernie Follows His Nose" I've been reading this book to Jentry since before she was born and we read it each night before bed :) I snuck back to the living room to get the camera and snapped these pics of her. I love them!

I let her stay in her room "reading" but went back to check on her about 5 minutes later and I found her with her new Doggies book hanging out of her mouth and a corner of the board book missing...guess she isn't too grown up yet :)

Our Little Hippie

Back in the day Jack was big fan of tye-dye...and when we saw this onesie at Buy Buy Baby he thought Jentry had to have it. Well we bought one and have waited about 3 months for Jentry to finally fit in it...today was the day that we debuted her tye-dye onesie...it was too cute with her bell bottom jeans, she's a real hippie...she just needs some dreads and birks! Enjoy...

Taking out the toys

For Jentry's 1st Birthday Mimi and Pop bought her a new toybox with her name on it. She spends a lot of time standing at it taking things out! Her daddy caught her in the box and took these cute pictures.
Mimi and Pop...thanks for giving us a place to put Jentry's toys...now if we could just teach her how to get them back into the toy box when she is done playing with them...we will work on that for her next birthday!

Biggest and Littlest Colts Fans

I took this super cute picture of the Biggest Colts fan in our house...holding his favorite Little Colts fan! On Blue Friday as well as Super Bowl Sunday we all decked out in our Colts gear...including Jentry! This is the end of her bling Colts outfit that Mimi gave us before Jentry was ever born! She has worn the heck out of it, but now it is time to retire her blue outfit. We already have a Colts cheerleader outfit along with a pink onesie for next season! We are ready to follow our home team all the way to the Super Bowl again :)
